The Muddy Duck is located in the pretty village of Hethe, just north of Bicester. You can’t miss us – we’re slap bang in the beating heart of the village, next door to the Church of St. Edmund and St. George. Please check availability in our large car park at the rear before attempting to park roadside in the village.

From Bicester / Buckingham

Take the Fringford or Stoke Lyne/Hethe turns off the A4421 – Buckingham Road – and follow to Hethe.

From M40

Exit at J10 and join the A43. Turn right (3rd exit) at the Baynard’s Green roundabout onto the B4100 for Bicester. Take the first left signed Stoke Lyne/Hardwick, keep straight and follow to Hethe.

  • 5 miles from luxury retail outlet, Bicester Village 18 miles from Oxford
  • 20 miles from Milton Keynes


We’re open 7 days a week and offer menus in both the pub/beer garden and The Malthouse restaurant/terrace during the following hours:

Please note if you wish to eat in the pub or beer garden, regrettably, tables cannot be reserved in advance. The pub/beer garden menu is bar service and the restaurant/terrace menu is full table service.


We do not have rooms, but are very happy to recommend The Dozing Duck – a stylish and luxurious garden room with en-suite bathroom which resides slap bang opposite The Muddy Duck (geographically superbly location for the crawl ‘home’). The Dozing Duck is available to book via Air BnB
